Benjamin Sisco

A " Benjamin Sisco" first appears in the the Duck Creek Hundred taxables in 1761 and remains there through 1768 before disappearing so this reference may belong to an earlier Benjamin.

In 1798-1800 another(?)Benjamin appears in the Little Creek Hundred taxables. This is more likely to be Ephraim's son. Benjamin appears in the 1820 Little Creek Hundred Census records, born before 1772 and is found living in a household 13 free colored.

A William and Benjamin Sisco are listed in the will of Jeremiah Concilor in 1811.

According to Ned Heite, Benjamin and his brother, John, were tenants on 350 acre farms, including one right next door to Bloomsbury. The rented from Gov, Jacob Stout and his sister, Mrs. Cowgill who established a school for colored students who were evicted from the public school system when it was set up in 1829.

Per Yates, Benjamin and his brother John left Delaware for Ohio but in 1840 we find Benjamin living in Washington Co., Nottingham Township in western PA so it appears he never made it to Ohio.

In 1850 we find Benjamin living in Beaver Co., PA where we also find a younger Ephraim Sisco, probably Benjamin's son.
